Sustainable Groundworks & Civil Engineering
Strong Foundations, Smarter Solutions, Sustainable Results
Our Current Initiatives
Continuously evaluating and improving our workflows to align with eco-friendly practices.
Researching and adopting electric and hydrogen-powered machinery to reduce emissions.
Sourcing materials and resources that support sustainable development goals.

Committed to Cleaner, Greener Construction Practices
We want to significantly reduce the carbon emissions of the construction industry, which accounts for a large portion of global emissions.
Our approach includes:
-
Optimising energy efficiency and minimising on-site emissions.
-
Reducing reliance on fossil fuels and adopting cleaner alternatives.
-
Transitioning to low-emission vehicles and machinery.
We aim to support the UK government’s Net Zero Carbon by 2050 target and continue to adapt our operations in line with evolving environmental standards.
Leading the Way in Sustainable Construction Solutions
We envision a future where clean technology leads the way in construction. Our goals include:
-
Investing in electric and hydrogen-powered machinery.
-
Partnering with innovative manufacturers to bring greener solutions to our projects
These technologies help us meet client sustainability needs while also reducing our environmental impact.
Building a Positive Environmental Legacy
We aim to make sustainability part of our DNA. Our practices focus on:
-
Using eco-friendly materials that reduce waste and energy use.
-
Minimising resource depletion and maximising recycling.
-
Optimising energy use throughout the life cycle of our projects
These practices ensure that we’re not only meeting industry standards, but actively creating a positive environmental legacy.
Creating Positive Impact Through Sustainable Construction
Looking forward, we envision a world where the construction industry plays a pivotal role in achieving global sustainability targets. Our continued efforts will focus on:
-
Enhancing energy efficiency in infrastructure.
-
Promoting biodiversity and reducing environmental harm.
-
Designing and building for long-term environmental sustainability.

Leading the Way in Sustainable Construction
At EuroTool Groundworks & Civils, sustainability guides every project decision.
As we begin work on a new college hub in Stoke, just metres from an active student environment, we've taken steps to cut our environmental impact:
-
HVO Biofuel – All heavy machinery will run on HVO fuel, reducing emissions by up to 90%.
-
Electric Equipment – Switching small tools like Stihl saws from petrol to electric to cut fumes and noise.
-
Proactive Planning – Aiming to reduce emissions by 75% this year, even with a 15% fuel cost increase for cleaner operations.
Our actions reflect a simple belief - preventing a problem is always better than fixing it. These steps demonstrate our dedication to creating a more sustainable future, especially in sensitive environments like schools and care facilities.
Building a Greener Future Together
Sustainability isn’t just a goal—it’s our vision for a cleaner, greener future.
By embracing innovation, efficiency, and responsibility, we are helping lead the way toward a construction industry that prioritises the planet’s health.
We believe that creating a sustainable built environment is a shared effort, and we invite our clients and partners to join us on this journey toward a greener, more sustainable future.
Certas Energy are thrilled to be the HVO renewable fuel supplier for Eurotool, who are one of a growing number of customers switching to HVO.
Demand for HVO is growing year-on-year across the UK as more organisations are understanding the sustainability benefits of switching to this fuel, and anticipate this trend to continue for the next decade.
